USAID Protects Internet Access in Ukraine Through Public-Private Partnership with SpaceX | Press release

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has delivered 5,000 Starlink terminals to the Ukrainian government as part of a public-private partnership with US aerospace manufacturer SpaceX.

Starlink satellite terminals will allow unlimited and unrestricted data connectivity from anywhere in Ukraine. The terminals will allow civil servants and providers of critical citizen services to continue to communicate within Ukraine and with the outside world, even if Putin’s brutal aggression cuts connections from the cellular or fiber optic communications infrastructure of the Ukraine.

Since Putin’s new unprovoked invasion of Ukraine on February 24, USAID has been working closely with humanitarian partners in Ukraine and the region to provide Ukrainians with life-saving humanitarian assistance while scaling up development programs to respond. to cyberattacks, disinformation, threats to the energy sector, essential health needs and to support the continued operation of local and national government entities.

For citizens wanting to help secure life-saving aid for Ukrainians in need, there is one thing to remember: cash is better. This is because it is efficient, flexible and allows humanitarian organizations on the ground to quickly procure what they need most.
