A community of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in the town of Porac will benefit from free internet access thanks to the establishment of the Technology Empowerment Center for Education, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (TECH4ED) in the municipality of Pampanga.

The TECH4ED center in Barangay Cangatba was inaugurated on Tuesday by the Department of Information and Communications Technology-Central Luzon (DICT-3), in partnership with the National Commission for Indigenous Peoples-Central Luzon (NCIP-3), the NCIP Pampanga Community Service Center, and IP groups.

The main beneficiaries are the Indigenous Cultural Communities Ayta Mag-indi and Ayta Mag-antsi or Indigenous Peoples (ICC/IP) of the Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title (CADT)123.

According to DICT-3 Regional Director Reynaldo Sy, the center is part of the government’s efforts to provide a place to study, work and use government services online in digitally underserved and unserved areas of the country. .

He said services the Aeta community can access include on-demand e-learning, marketplace, job portal, agricultural technologies, government services, quality health information, disasters and special content.
