Local internet service provider joins Idaho Falls Fiber Network
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – Idaho Falls Fiber has announced the addition of another service provider to Idaho’s largest open-access fiber network.
FyberCom will offer 250 Mbps and one gigabyte Internet service at $34.89 and $39.89 per month respectively. Service with FyberCom is now available for residential and business customers. Customers can learn more about FyberCom’s service and the Idaho Falls Fiber Network at www.idahofallsfiber.com or on their website at www.fybercom.net.
“We are thrilled to welcome FyberCom, an excellent locally owned and operated ISP, to our network,” said Bear Prairie, General Manager of Idaho Falls Fiber. “This addition of our sixth provider confirms our customer’s promise to operate an open-access community network that provides quality and affordable high-speed broadband service.”
Since 2019, Idaho Falls Fiber has installed or passed through more than 12,000 homes in the city of Idaho Falls. Idaho Falls Fiber expects the network to be complete by the end of 2024 for all residents of the city.
“When we started expanding Idaho Falls’ fiber optic network a few years ago, we did so with the goal of providing affordable high-speed access to every corner of the community,” Prairie said. “This type of public-private partnership benefits everyone, regardless of their economic situation, to stay connected to an increasingly digital world.”
Idaho Falls Power and Idaho Falls Fiber Crews install the fiber optic lines either over existing overhead power lines, in existing underground pipes, or in new pipes as homes are built. The Idaho Falls Fiber network is superior because the utility does not daisy chain homes over a single fiber line; instead, each household in the network receives its own dedicated fiber optic line.
FyberCom is a local company founded in 2013. They pride themselves on being the fastest growing internet service provider in Eastern Idaho, with the fastest low latency symmetric network in the region. FyberCom connects with a 100 gigabyte circuit to the Idaho Falls Fiber Network, the largest circuit available to connect to these types of networks. This allows for low subscription rates, which in turn provides a superior customer experience. FyberCom has received several local and national awards for its customer service, network and growth.
“We are honored to offer our legendary service on the IF Fiber network,” said Jared Stowell, CEO of FyberCom. “As a local business started nearly a decade ago, we’ve been focused on delivering the fastest, lowest latency, best-in-class internet and customer service in the state of Idaho. . Joining the Idaho Falls Fiber Network will allow us to extend this service to everyone in the city of Idaho Falls.
Residents connecting to the Idaho Falls Fiber network pay a $25 monthly fee on their utility bill for the fiber infrastructure and a monthly carrier fee to the service provider they choose to provide their fiber service. Total costs for peak broadband services range between $59 and $100 per month, depending on the speed and provider customers choose.
