IIT Madras Announces Online Course on Next Generation Mobile Wireless Networks

The course is open to Engineering and MSc (Electronics) students, PhD students, faculty members and professionals

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation and Megam Solutions are jointly offering a six-month online certification course on “Next Generation Mobile Wireless Networks”.

The deadline to register for the course is February 8 and sessions will start on February 12. Sessions will take place every other weekend.

This program will provide in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience on technologies such as 5G, software-defined networks, network function virtualization and Internet of Things (IoT), IIT Madras said.

Participants will learn to understand the architecture of next-generation mobile wireless networks, network infrastructure components, protocols and various applications of modern mobile wireless networks, he added.

The course is open to engineering and MSc (Electronics) students, PhD students, faculty members and professionals.

“5G is not just a network that can deliver high-speed entertainment, but it is one of the building blocks of Industry 4.0. This course is being launched at a very opportune time when we anticipate opportunities jobs with this skill set, in large numbers, in the near future,” said Prof. V Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras.
